Triggers are an AL2 exclusive that become available for unlock after completing the AI Robot technology tree.
They are not particularly profitable on their own though they are used to craft Ignition Systems, which have the second highest sale price of any product that is not made in a Radioactive Crafter. They are 1 of only 3 products in the AI Bomber technology tree (along with the Ignition System itself and its other primary component, the Explosive) that do not require radioactive raw materials and are crafted in traditional Crafters.
Unlike many other aspects of AL2, the Ignition System branch of the AI Bomber technology tree is similar to AL1 AI Robot production in that the production line is not particularly complex but instead relies on high quantities of resources.
Triggers have the highest quantity for a single component as they require 40 raw iron. The second highest is the Atomic Bomb which requires 15 of each raw radioactive material. In all other instances, the highest count of a given component is 10 (which is fairly common) though the majority of products that require 10 of something are not calling for raws (items made in the Crafter MK1 such as Circuits are most common).
Due to the large amount of iron required to produce triggers, they have a very low profit per starter ratio at 3317 per starter used assuming maximum upgrades. This makes it the least profitable Crafter MK3 product. They are less than half as profitable as simply selling radioactive raws directly (8000 per raw) despite radioactive starter maxing out at half the speed as standard Staters. They are only marginally more profitable (per starter) than the better Crafter MK2 products with the exception of Computers which are roughly 1.6 times as profitable.
